My friend Colette sent me this cute photo she took at Ruby's party Saturday. I love it for a couple of reasons...
I think Ruby just looks so darling enjoying her big day as a 3 yr. old. She is so happy sandwiched between her friends riding on the carousel and has such a lovely smile.
Second, Abbie's reaction to Tommy. She really swooned over Tommy at the party. She has run into him a couple of time before but really took notice of him Saturday afternoon. She asked me all kinds of questions about him and his mom on the ride home. She was digging him big time.
Most of all, it is just a great action shot of three 3 yr. olds having fun together on a lovely Saturday afternoon. I hope when they are big kids at Bartlett they will all still enjoy sitting together on the bench at the GVR carousel. If not, at least I'll always have this marvelous photo.

Happy Birthday PapaThom!
Our family is celebrating PapaThom's birthday with him this year and we couldn't be more excited. Abbie helped bake his cake this morning then MamaThom took Kyle to buy 68 candles for the top of it. He tried to talk her into getting a six and an eight candle, then letting us spell out 68 with candles but she wouldn't have any of it. We needed to blow out one candle for each year of his life and so we did.
We had some pizza and then our cake and ice cream (with strawberries of course).
The kids had a wonderful time with their grandparents today and are looking forward to the next few days of their visit.
A special shout-out to little Ruby who also celebrated a birthday today. Abbie & Daisy were invited to a lovely party out by the carousel at Green Valley Ranch. Both had a fantastic time. Thanks Ruby for allowing us to celebrate with you!!!!!

"It made all my dreams come true!"
As promised, we attended the SWNA's World Water Walk Day celebration this morning. As we were driving up, Abbie noticed what she though were bounce slides and other fun activities. She told us, "Mommy, Daddy, this is a walk party!" We answered that is was. Then she says, "This made all my dreams come true...like Cinderella." So, there you have it.
We listened to the YACs give their speeches then we were off. Abbie wanted to run and since this was truly more of a walk than our usual events she was really bobbing and weaving through the crowd. I had a lot of stops and starts trying to keep track of her.
I guess on a random Saturday morning, dreams really can come true.

Walking for Water

This Saturday we will be participating in the World Water Day Walk. Not only is it a family friendly run/walk but it is also free. Can't beat that. Especially since we typically end up spending roughly $75 each time our family enters a run.
The best part, it helps raise awareness about the water situation in our area and around the world. In many parts of the world, people walk 1.5 to 2 miles just to get fresh water. We get it out of our tap. We can do more to conserve and take care of our water sources and this is a great way to start.
So join our family as we support the SNWA in spreading the word about the need for clean drinking water for everyone. One of our very favorite peeps, Kristen Howey, is responsible for the event along with her Youth Advisory Council. If Kristen is at the helm, you know its gotta be good.

Princess Day
Abbie has the most darling dance teacher. I believe I've mentioned that both Lindsay and Samantha took dance from her when they were little along with half of Green Valley. If people don't take their daughters to Lori, they've heard about how cute she is.
I love that she allows the girls to love dance. This isnt' Ballet West but instead a chance for girls to love dancing without worrying about height, weight, what they wear or how talented they may or may not be.
Today was "Princess Day". She invited all the girls to dress like princesses and did special princess dances with princess music the entire hour. Really cute and fun.
Daisy wanted to dress like a princess too so I put her in her Minnie Mouse dress but forgot to snap a photo....poor Doodle.
Thanks to Nikki and Ruby for once again loaning us the Snow White dress. Abbie may never take it off.

To answer Lindsay's question...
Play with me Sesame is both a TV show and a DVD. The TV show is on Sprout (Cox 355 if you have digital cable). It is a 30 minute version of Sesame Street that is especially for toddlers. They focus on the furry characters we love and leave out all the rest.
There are at least 2 DVDs and probably more by now (several were scheduled to release in 2008) but I haven't checked into it lately. We have the original two. Abbie loved them when she was younger and now Daisy enjoys them. Playtime with Grover is our favorite but it has sustained a few scratches so we watch the Goodnight one more often.
It might be time for the Thompson Family to look into a third for our library....
Daisy - 15 months old
Daisy turned 15 months over the weekend. We were able to wrap her well check into her RSV check-up earlier this week (thanks Dr. Faro!) and she is doing well...just really, really small.
She needs to start putting on some lbs. so the Dr. suggested a few extra things to try. Aunt Lindsay offered to let Daisy come join them for nightly ice cream at the Griffeth's but they live just a little too far away.
Her feet are still tiny...can fit into a 3 t0 6 month shoe although I let her drown in 6 -12 month ones most of the time. She is walking with the assistance of her baby doll stroller or a stool but doesn't want to do it on her own. She is fine with the assistance.
She likes to be my helper. You can see her above folding for me. She finally started liking TV with her favorites being Play With Me Sesame and Baby Signing Time. It gives me a little time to shower and dress in the morning and was extremely helpful during her breathing treatments.
She is still a grouch. I think she has earned a place in Oscar's can but we love her enough to keep her for now. The bucky beaver smile helps.
She loves to model her sister and push around strollers and pat babies and play Little People or whatever Abbie is doing...even if she has to do it by herself (because Abbie ditched her). Abbie generally wears bows in her fro and Daisy really loves having things in her hair now too, just to be like her sis.
This video is entitled "The Race". Title by Abbie Marz Thompson.

Blazer Scout Overnighter
Tripp and Kyle went on the Stake Blazer Scout Overnighter this last weekend. Kyle had to fix dinner and breakfast for his patrol and everyone seemed to come home healthy so I'd say that is a step in the right direction. He chose Marz Family taco salad for dinner and pancakes and apple slices for breakfast.
He also got the opportunity to work on some of the remaining items he needs before an upcoming Court of Honor in April. And, he slept in a tent with his dad. What could be better than all of that? Apparently, it was the beef jerky on the way home which Kyle announced was his "Favorite" and the "Best Ever." This kid cracks me up.

RSV...We've Got It
Or more accurately, Daisy's got it. She had a slight cough last week so I took her in for some allergy medication and came home with breathing treatments, allergy meds and antibiotics for an ear infection.
This is what Daisy looks like three times a day. Usually, she is sitting in my lap (or squirming) watching Signing Time or Play With Me Sesame but at night I try to do it while she is sleeping.
We are all looking forward to Tuesday when Daisy will hopefully receive a clean bill of health and we can put all the meds away. RSV also equals house arrest and the girls are really tired of being home. I think even a trip to the grocery store would be welcome at this point. Tripp has been out of town and left again today so they are really tired of me as well.
All I can really say is that although this has been a real pain, I'm so grateful it isn't something more serious. Read the blog "Sweet Brin Brin" on my list and get a dose of how brutal sickness can really be. They are real troupers and are battling cancer like heroes. They help me remember that a little meds, breathing treatment and home arrest isn't so bad.
