So Long Sweet Reggie

Many people know that we rescued Reggie almost two years ago from a family that was about to dump him either at a pound or with any random person that would take him. He is a sweet bulldog with lots of energy and love. We told the LV Bulldog Club about taking him in and told them that if they ever had an adoptive family with older kids (due to his high energy and size - 65 lbs. of muscle), we would be happy to help him to a new home but would also foster him forever if that's what was best. We got a call out of the blue last week that a family was interested in adopting him, had older kids and had people at the house almost 24/7 so he would always have company. We met them on Friday and they passed the home inspection so it was time for Reggie to have a new home. Our tree-trimming guy came over Saturday and it turns out that his son is the family that was adopting Reggie. I have to admit that I was feeling pretty blue Friday night but after finding out that Danny was going to be living with Reggie as well, I started feeling much better.

Today we said "So long" to Reggie as he went to his new home. I cried and cried. Then Tripp cried after he left and asked me if we could take a break from fostering dogs because seeing him leave was too hard. Reggie is going to a home with a family that is so excited to have him and can't wait to shower him with love and attention...just like we do but without Kramer competition. It's for the best but I'm stilling feeling rather broken-hearted tonight.

Happy Birthday Tripp!

Today is Tripp's birthday. A good friend called tonight and asked if him if the day was relaxing or low key...not quite. Poor guy had something of a "Crappy" birthday, reseeding and spreading manure on our lawn. He spent all day in the front yard. He had just enough time to shower before we headed out for Kyle's soccer game. After soccer, G&G Marz, Wes & Nate and Sam came over for Metro Pizza, cake and ice cream. The camera card isn't sinking with our computer so I'll have to post photos another time.

Everyone posts all kinds of fabulous things on their blog on their husbands birthdays so I'll skip the mush. Suffice it to say, Tripp proposed after we had been dating for five weeks. Some people thought I was crazy but I've never regretted it...not for even one second. He is the best husband, father and son ever. Period.

On the move.....

That's right...the Doodle is on the move. You can't tell from the photo but I put her in an entirely different area of the room then came back to her pulling big kid toys out of the red bucket. Stinker. And for clarification, she doesn't crawl. Daisy has a big squishy tush and she likes to motor herself around on it. Whatever works I guess. Earlier this week I caught her over by the fireplace with a big chunk of tile cement in her mouth (we are getting ready to rework our fireplace). Yummy. Just in time for Halloween she has two teeth on the bottom that make her smile really something. She definitely gives the Jack-O-Lanterns a run for their money. She uses it a lot when I find her getting into something that she probably shouldn't (like the red bucket above).

Abberina Ballerina

Abbie had her first day of dance this morning and she loved it. Ms. Lori (Samantha's old dance teacher) was so kind to allow Abbie to start a few months shy of the mandatory 3 years. She even called Sam and told her that Abbie should come to class and she would take care of everything with the rec center staff!

Abbie asked me on the way to class if she was going to be like Angelina Ballerina from the Goodnight Show (her new favorite program). According to Ms. Lori, Abbie is on her way. She said that Abbie did a wonderful job and was definitely ready for dance class. She kept right up with the other girls...many of which have taken this class before. Abbie started the class with tap and ended with ballet. It was really, really cute. However, the room is not conducive to photos so this is probably the best we are going to get. She gets to be in a Christmas program in December for everyone who wants to check out her moves. I'm sure my dad can't wait!!!!

Daisy Doodle is 9 months old....

Little Daisy is 9 months old. If you ask Abbie about her little sister, she is quick to tell you that her name is "Daisy Doodle". Our little Doodle is still a small fry weighing in at only 17 lbs. but she is growing so there isn't a cause for concern. She is just a small fry like her brother. Her hair is becoming a little crazy again...long on the sides and a little wavy on top. Unfortunately, it's still not long enough for clips of any kind so she is still oftentimes mistaken for a boy. She has zero interest in crawling but the doctor would like for us to start encouraging her to use her legs more each day...standing on them for awhile. She loves to kick them when she dances but that's about it. She is very content to sit and play. She is definitely the "Sweet" in our family always with a smile for her mom and dad (her brother and definitely her sister are the spicy or salty ones). Basically, she is right on track and doesn't need to head back to the doctor until after her first birthday. Today's appointment ran late which forced us to miss Abbie's first day of dance class...I've got one little bummed ballerina on my hands. So, no more official Daisy updates for a few months. I think it's safe to say she will be busy tagging along with her brother and sister.

Soccer Season

It's soccer time again...
Kyle's never played fall soccer but after two successful spring seasons he decided to pass on baseball and football and get right back into soccer. He's been playing on a good team in that they are talented but also display good sportsmanship and are successful losers (which I'm finding is rare in childrens' sports - especially among the parents). The coaches are great and Kyle really gets on well with many of the players. He is in the goalie box again, which he really loves and has shown a talent for. We are impressed with his level of committment to this sport and this team. Far more serious and committed than to others sports he's tried (except basketball - too bad the kid is just so dang short!). We'd love to have anyone and everyone join us for his games. I'm listing the schedule below. All games are played at Anthem Hills Park.
