Most of you know that we are Disneyland lovers. Note, that is much different than Disney lovers. We don't poor over every Disney movie or decorate our kids rooms with princess borders and such. But we heart Disneyland. The rides, the treats, the characters, the sheer happiness. We love it all.
It's no surprise that our kids really dig the place as well. Abbie loves to play the game where we talk about all of Aunt Tara's favorite Disneyland rides, taking turns naming them. And she loves to talk about all the rides she is going to go on the next time we visit.
Well, she found our Disneyland video last night (or should I say Tripp pulled it out for her) and has been watching it non-stop. I should be more specific...it's not a video of one of our trips to Disneyland rather the movie Disney made about a trip to Disneyland. It's totally 80s, pre-Indiana Jones. But it is also pre-changes...the Swiss Family Robinson still live in the tree house, there are no signs of "Captain Jack Sparrow" in Pirates of the Caribbean, Davy Crockett still has an island to run and play on, the people mover is moving people, the submarine has never seen or heard of Nemo and It's a Small World is intact, in all it's cardboard glory. I love that we have this piece of the old Disneyland, the real Disneyland, and that Abbie is loving it so much.
Kyle watched the last few minutes last night when he got home and made some comment about all the lights and wondered if it was a holiday...no, just the Electric Light Parade. How wonderful was that? Why did it have to go away? Tripp even rode in it when he was a little guy.
So, we are living up the Disneyland magic at our house right now and dreaming of our next visit.

If Abbie is ever up for sharing her video or inviting aunt lindsay over to watch it with her, i'd love to share in the disney magic.
That sounds like so much fun. Yes, some of the older things can be the best. LOVE YOU.
The tree house...that was so cool. I remember wanting to live in that tree house...for a little while anyway.
Those memories brought back the good old days at Disneyland. I remember playing in the treehouse and visiting the island, but there are also some really fun new things. I can't wait to take Saige.
