Crazy, Fun Weekend

We had a fun but crazy weekend. Trying to fit in soccer, swimming, BBQ and lots of family visiting into the weekend Kyle got ordained a Deacon was a bit crazy but tons of fun.

We got soccer out of the way Saturday morning but it was way too hot to be outside for 90 minutes. We came home in time to get our things gathered together and head over to G&G Marz's house for our afternoon of swimming. Wes, Lindsay and Nate were already there so we had a quick lunch, put the little guys (Nate & Daisy) down for a rest and jumped in the pool. The Butlers arrived a short time later. Although we live in Vegas and do a ton of swimming, we rarely, if ever, swim together. It was a fun treat. Ruby got to check out Grandma Marz's sink (always a hit), Lulu amazed us with all her pool tricks and of course took Abbie on many adventures. I forgot to load the photo of Rich chillin on the raft but when Lulu wasn't cartwheeling onto it, Rich was lounging on it. It was one good afternoon. Sadly, they had to run and make the Missionaries Dorrito Casserole so we had to say "Farewell."

After the Butlers hit the road, the rest of us exited the pool for a little inside rest time. The kids played in the playroom, Tripp and Wes crashed in front of the TV and Lindsay and I started getting things together for the BBQ. Pat, Jenn & kids arrived just after 5 p.m. and we had everything ready to go. We ate then jumped right back in the pool for another round of fun.

We cleaned up and hit the road about 7ish. Everyone was pooped. All the kids got baths and showers and were put in bed. Lindsay told me later that she felt like sleeping at 8:30. I think Jenn and I probably could have as well but we waited around for Tripp and Pat to get home from their hour long trip to Walgreens, Double Stuff Oreos and back patches in hand.
The next day Kyle was ordained as a Deacon. Scott and his family joined us at church and we waited patiently for Kyle to be "kidnapped" from Primary. It's hard to believe he is in the Young Men's program now. Thanks to everyone who traveled (Pat & Scott Thompson and families) and came locally (Karla, Grandma & Grandpa Marz, Lindsay & Family, Sam, the Butler Family, Sean Gubler & Bishop Boyle) to either stand in the circle or be present for the ordination. We appreciate it.
Kyle got home Sunday night at 7 p.m. Tripp had the popcorn ready and they plopped down and watched "Return to Witch Mountain" before Kyle made his lunch then hit the sack for school the next morning.

Fun family memories. Congrats to Kyle! I was wondering why I saw Lindsey at church with you guys - that answers it! :)

And we're glad we were able to be there for Kyle. I can't believe you're 12, bud!
